Effective September 4, 2009 AMBA is an approved course provider under the NMLS.

This is information I just received from Jeremy. The applications received before June 1, 2010 will be processed first. This extension is to help with the mass amount of applications the state is receiving. Please get your applications in as soon as possible. I would appreciate your promptness. We have a great relationship with Jeremy Windom and our State Banking Dept. and would only want to help him make this transition as easy as possible. We would like for him to say that AMBA made his job easier.

"The Supervisor of the Bureau of Loans of the Alabama Banking Department has established an interim procedure changing the effective date of licensing for mortgage loan originators from June 1, 2010 to July 31, 2010 to correspond with the federal requirement for licensure and to allow the Department more time to process mortgage loan originator applications that have already been received. This interim procedure is not intended to benefit those that have procrastinated in their filing. Individuals wishing to be licensed under the Alabama SAFE Act should have already applied for that license through the NMLS.

To date we have received approximately 2200 mortgage loan originator applications. It is our goal to issue an Approved-Conditional status, to all of those individuals deserving that status, and who have met the requirements of licensure, by July 31, 2010. Individuals that have incomplete filings or file late will be reviewed, or reviewed again, once all initial applications received prior to June 1, 2010 are processed and reviewed once. Individuals that have requirements placed on their NMLS record should satisfy those requirements as soon as possible."
